Application
- Cat 5 Ethernet Cable is an unshielded, twisted pair network cable that features bare copper conductors. It is also available with a variety of jacket and insulation materials. This cable has outstanding performance characteristics as a network cable in high speed and gigabit ethernet data applications. Cat 5 cable is NEMA-rated as a low-loss frequency cable. It is designed for use with ISDN, 10 Base-T, 100 Base VG-AnyLan, 55/155 Mbps ATM, 4/16 Mbps token ring, and voice applications. All of the Cat 5 cables are available in plenum-rated versions as well. Plenum-rated cables have better numbers ending in "CMP."
